Now, tell me folks, why do drivers just have to pull out in front of an on-coming vehicle? I mean, really. It's night time and dark. My lights are on. There is no one
following behind my car. So here's what happened.
I'm just going the speed limit down the road on my way home from work. It's a road I take every single day. As I'm doing 40 miles per hour down the stretch, a BMW sport car (of course) comes to a rolling stop at a side road stop sign. Is he going to stop? Does he see that I'm about 50 yards from the road?
Well, he hesitates long enough that I think he's actually going to stop and wait for me to pass. Does he?
NOOoooooOoo.
He pulls right out in front of me and I have to hit my breaks to keep from rear-ending him. Does he speed up to the 40 MPH speed limit? No. Does he seem to know/care that he just about lost his rear bumper? Seemingly not.
So I steam a while as I try not to tailgate (but I really want to). Finally, about a mile and a half down the road he changes lanes and I can go by. To top things off, I'm thoroughly disgusted with myself for letting this small act of un-civility get to me.
What really burns me up is that he could have waited a few seconds longer, and had clear sailing without giving me heartburn. Geeze!
I don't know. I'm a reasonable woman. Do I expect too much of total strangers? Perhaps.
Do you?
