Computer for Kidlets

The girls inherited their GrandPa's (my Dad's) computer. It only had a measley 128MB in it, so I am installing the maximum amount this particular computer can hold: 512MB. And re-installing the Windoze XP. Hopefully it will last them for a few years. Now I need to get them a printer. ::sigh:: It's always something.

(I have a networked printer - so they can use that and it will buy us some time before we have to fork out the $$$$ for that. Printers can really be cheap, until you have to replace those darned ink cartridges. That's where the expense comes in. So, I've started getting printers where the different colors of ink can be replaced individually. Much better value.)

I'm clueless about "Parental Controls" and "Kid Zones." Anyone have any suggestions??? I mean, geeze, it's easy to Google something and up pops links to very inappropriate sites. Ugh. How the heck do you filter that out?!!!

I need help. Any suggestions... anyone????
