I bought the soundtrack to Orlando from Amazon, where the price was less than $6 - I guess when the movie isn't mainstream, the music goes cheap. Good for my budget.
Facinating music. It can be a bit abrasive, lacks some polish here and there, but it remains interesting to my ear. But then, I like eclectic music. I like odd instrumentals that allow my mind to reach into crevices and valleys seldom explored, and the sound is a conduit for that need. My favorite cut is Pavanne, which, if I'm not mistaken, is the music for the dance of early English royals. In the movie the dance is depicted circa 1600. Very rigid footwork, where the lord and lady can hold hands with a bit of distance. I love the music for it, and the track is not long enough for my taste (2:38). Of course, I play it over and over (and over).
I picked up Virginia Woolf's Orlando: The Biography at the library yesterday. I wonder if it will be a good read for me?
