Gates meets Putin

This morning I read a CNN snippet online,

“Gates meets Putin to discuss missile sites.”

Needless to say, this alarmed me.

I mean, why on God’s Green Earth would Putin want to discuss weapons with Microsoft founder Bill Gates?

Was Bill about to install some heretofore unknown weapons software in his new operating system, Vista? I have heard a lot about the software bloat of Vista, but isn’t this taking things just a little too far?

Sure was a good thing, then, that there was a link to the article. It said that Defense Secretary Robert Gates flew to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Hmmmm.

You know what? Having cleared up the name mystery, I just do not feel all that much better.
