I love March - Spring breaking through winter. Of course, our California winter is nothing like yours in the North. Ours is very mild, often wet and windy. Spring hints its own coming with warmer temperatures, rabbits in the vinyards, and sprouting vines.
A few weeks ago I took my bike over on the other side of town where the vinyards are, and road up Del Valle Road. The above picture looks a bit bleak and dreary, but I intend to go out there for another ride soon to show you the bright green vines as they climb their appointed rounds. I did see quite a few Jack Rabbits amongst the towering (to them!) trunks of the vines. I am sure they are looking to snatch that first sweet grape that falls to the ground.
I think they have a few month's wait ahead of them!
