These kids are gonna give me so many grey hairs, my stylist will be able to buy a Mercedes in a few years. So, it seems that in the year 2006, we are not to be blessed with one, uneventful month. Instead, each month this year some traumatic event has been visited upon us.
Today Megan, aka 8 year old Second Daughter, broke her right index finger. Thankfully it is a very minor break, unlike her sister's broken arm on May 4th. The pediatrician put it in a splint (see pic), but he thinks our orthopedic surgeon is going to cast it - the break may be right in the growth plate. Well, at least she doesn't have to have surgery!
We told her she really didn't have to try to out-do her sister. Would she listen??? Noooooo.
Update: Thank goodness for small favors. The Bone Doctor checked Megan out, and the break isn't nearly as bad as the pediatrician had led us to believe. I guess that's why there are specialists. The bone is chipped, and he kept her splinted. Tomorrow we tape her index and middle finger together untl her next appointment. |
