Pizza Popcycles and a Sleep-Over Tonight

It's been a hot day today - cresting at 104 degrees. But, I work where the AC blows a tepid breeze. The hotter it gets outside, the warmer it gets inside. After a 12 hour work day (I'm filling in for one of my co-worker on a 4-week vacation - bah! Yes, he will pay. Yes he will.) I came home to a house full of giggling kids. There were more than two - somehow the number doubled.

Oh. Yeah. Now I remember. Megan and Katie have friends staying over tonight. Pizza and popcycles and
popcorn, in any order. Megan's friend Drew and Katie's friend Anna are downstairs laughing. The cats are hiding under the bed, but Spot braved poking his head out for a few minutes. Until the noise from downstairs sent him scurrying back under. I don't know if Megan's lizard gets nervous with noisy kids... but I think Katie's ratties hide in a corner of their cage somewhere. (Spot is camera shy. This is a picture of Spot's brother - Bandit - squinting his eyes after being rudely disturbed under the bed.)

Amazing how 8 and 10 year olds can strike fear all domestic animals within a mile radius.
