Thank goodness, the cast is gone, Long Live the Arm!
I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to update y'all on our limbs in limbo. Katie's cast was removed last Friday, so it's been just over a week now. Her arm was kinda dry and sloughing dead skin, but it was good to be free of that thing. Although, she really had adjusted quite nicely to it.
Yesterday and today we took the girls to the pool - and she's been giving it some good exercise. She can't straighten it out very far yet, and she can't move her thumb more that an eighth of an inch... But her fingers are about 95% well. It's just going to take a while for the nerve to recover that controls her thumb and feeling there.
I know it's still early, but I worry that she won't get full utilization. But, that's the mother in me, and it's not like there's anything I can do about it.
Overall, the kid's doing Good.
