Retro Mom & Kidlet

Mother's Day has come and gone. With two Moms in the house, enjoying the day is doubly fun - and busy! The girls and I wanted to get Momma Kan something that she would remember. But the pretties were over the top for us, and our budget was limited. Most of all, we wanted to ensure a lot of smiles.

Enter the Lowly Lava Lamp.
Kandy: "A lava lamp? Ooooooh-Kaaay."

Kidlet #1: "Yeah, Mom. Do you like it?"

Kidlet #2: "It's your favorite colors - blue and green!"

Kandy (now smiling broadly): "Hmmmmm... Kinda retro, huh?"

Moi: "Yeah, we wanted to make you really, really happy. Did it work?"

Kandy: "I love it!"
This evening, Megan spent a good half hour standing on a little stool, watching the bloop-bloooop-blimp of the goo as it stretched and flowed and separated. She watched and watched as if trying to understand just what and how it flowed - facinated. I was facinated watching her intensity.

Gotta love a kid that loves a Lava Lamp.
