Work and no play... what is it "they" say about that?
- The girls' last day of school for the year was last Thursday. Are they ever happy that School's Out For Summer!
- Kandy's off for a week before Summer Session begins.
- The price of gas has fallen about $0.10 - hard to believe that one can be jubilent about that. It's $3.11 at Safeway.
- My weight-loss efforts have kind of leveled off for the moment. Still working out, though.
- Gardening: this weekend the family gardened, seemingly around the clock. It felt like that.
- Last summer I bought an old, dilapidated garden bench for $10 at an estate sale. This weekend I took it apart, sanded all the wood, coated the iron with oil, painted the wood, and reassembled it. See above picture for today's picture of the veggie/herb/flower garden. (click the pictures to see a larger version)
- Went to work, Kandy and the girls potted petunias and did yardwork all day. Now that's dedication!
- I think the wall behind the bench needs a trellis - maybe we'll plant some grapes and let them run the trellis? What do you think?
- I ran fancy little 1/4" lines to each plant so each one gets watered. Including the hanging pots. Whew! (Sorry that the picture is kinda dark)
Now, time for some shut-eye...
